Take a run or a stroll through Los Gatos at spring events

It’s the time of year to lace up your jogging shoes and join the Rotary Club of Los Gatos for the 45th annual Great Race April 29 at 8:30 a.m. the course covers 4 miles through Vasona and Oak Meadow parks, with access to trails many have never seen. For safety, aid stations and course monitors ensure that all participants stay on course. For the kiddos, there will be a special 1-Mile Kids Fun Run at 8:10 a.m. prior to the main event. Proceeds from the race will, as always, support scholarships for local high school youth as well as Los Gatos Rotary’s local and global service projects. The Los Gatos Spring Wine Walk is around the corner. It’s a great chance to take a stroll around downtown while enjoying wine tasting and food samples from local shops and restaurants. Dozens of local wineries will be featured. Rain or shine, the wine will flow. Thanks to glass sponsor VKG Real Estate. Looking for a spring rejuvenation? Judging from the packed house for the ribbon cutting at L&P Aesthetics on Village Lane, it looks like many are ready for an after-COVID refresher. Dr. David M. It is said that public speaking is one of life’s great fears. Los Gatos Toastmasters is determined to help folks overcome that fear. The group’s social club practices public speaking and leadership skills every week. Members swear that the club has given them confidence to use in all walks of life. Coming up May 6 is the Spring Fashion Show and Brunch at the Palms, 115 N. Santa Cruz Ave. The event showcases the fashions of downtown Los Gatos merchants. The brunch buffet features quiche, salad and dessert, unlimited mimosas and soft drinks. No host bar. Brunch begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by the fashion show. Tickets are $85 at Eventbrite.com.
