Aaron Boone said he believes Aaron Judge may have had a “breakthrough” with his sprained toe after receiving a second PRP in the area last week.
The outfielder has yet to be begin baseball activities, Boone said, but there has been a decrease in swelling and he’s able to do more on the toe than last week.
“I’m encouraged by what I’m seeing and in conversations with him,” Boone said. “And I feel he feels there’s been a little bit of a breakthrough… Hopefully this is the start of him making real progress.”
Judge has been sidelined since slamming into the outfield fence making a catch against the Dodgers in Los Angeles on June 3.
The offense has struggled in the 12 games without Judge, losing eight of them.
The Yankees have yet to put a firm timetable on his return.
