After a first-round exit in his previous effort in Flushing, Fritz is looking stronger, as all three of his tournament matches have ended in three straight sets thus far.
Fritz is looking to become the first American male to win the U.S. Open since Andy Roddick did so 20 years ago.
In the Round of 16, Fritz is next set to face Dominic Stricker of Switzerland.
