A former South Carolina instructor was charged with having a chronic inappropriate relationship with a teenage boy.
Nicole Ballew Callaham, 33, turned herself in to the Anderson County Detention Heart Thursday, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Workplace stated.
She was charged with three counts of felony sexual conduct with a minor and one depend of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Detectives started investigating Callaham in Might and located that the alleged misconduct started in 2021 and continued for at the very least two years.
Callaham, a instructor on the time, started “grooming behavior” with the boy in his early teen years, authorities stated.
“The relationship intensified as she reportedly signed the student out of school, transported him to practices and served as a supervisor for after-school activities,” the sheriff’s workplace stated. “These repeated interactions led to a prolonged pattern of abuse, which was corroborated by search warrants and ongoing cooperation with the victim’s family.”
The boy got here ahead after turning 18, “following time spent processing the experience and trauma associated with the abuse,” authorities stated.
Along with the costs in Anderson County, the Greenville Metropolis Police Division has introduced related fees towards Callaham.
The alleged conduct prolonged into its jurisdiction when the boy attended faculty in Greenville.
Callaham has resigned from Anderson Faculty District 5.
