Not even a rest room mishap may deter Scottie Scheffler’s newest victory lap.
When celebrating his second straight Memorial Match win on Sunday, the world’s No. 1 golfer was joined by spouse Meredith and their toddler son, Bennett, on the inexperienced at Muirfield Village Golf Membership in Dublin, Ohio, the place he shot a 2-under par within the closing spherical for a 10-under general.
Upon handing Bennett over to Scheffler, cameras picked up Meredith telling the three-time main winner, “He has poop all over his back.”
An unfazed Scheffler replied, “That’ll happen,” as he and his household took within the jubilant scene.
With Sunday’s victory at Muirfield Village, the 28-year-old Scheffler joins Tiger Woods as the one repeat Memorial winners. The 15-time main victor received in 1999, 2000 and 2001.
Scheffler shot three birdies in Sunday’s closing spherical and a bogey on the again 9 — one thing he isn’t scoffing at when navigating the annual Jack Nicklaus-hosted occasion.
“Only one bogey around this place is pretty good,” Scheffler mentioned. “I hit a lot of fairways. I definitely wasn’t in the rough very much. I think I hit it in the rough off of 10, but outside of that, I don’t think I was really in the rough at all. Around this place, that’s going to be key.”
This was his third victory of the season.
Scheffler acquired his first win of 2025 on the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in early Could. He adopted that up by securing his first PGA Championship victory weeks later.
Mererdith and Bennett celebrated with Scheffler at Quail Hole on Could 18 when he held the Wanamaker Trophy for the primary time.
Scheffler and Meredith have been married since 2020 and introduced Bennett’s beginning final Could.
