LOS ANGELES — A physician charged with giving Matthew Perry ketamine within the months main as much as the “Friends” star’s overdose demise has agreed to plead responsible, authorities mentioned Monday.
Dr. Salvador Plasencia has agreed to plead responsible to 4 counts of distribution of ketamine, federal prosecutors mentioned in an announcement.
They mentioned the plea carries a most sentence of 40 years in jail, and Plascencia is anticipated to enter the plea within the coming weeks.
Plasencia and a girl accused of being a ketamine seller had been the first targets of the prosecution, after three different defendants, together with one other physician, agreed to plead responsible in trade for his or her cooperation.
Plasencia had been scheduled to begin trial in August.
Perry died on Oct. 28, 2023 at age 54.
