OpenAI is in discussions to purchase synthetic intelligence-assisted coding instrument Windsurf for about $3 billion, Bloomberg Information reported on Wednesday, citing an individual acquainted with the matter.
The deal can be OpenAI’s largest so far, the phrases of which haven’t but been finalized, the report stated, including the talks may change or crumble.
OpenAI declined to remark, whereas Windsurf, previously generally known as Codeium, didn’t instantly reply to a Reuters request for remark.
Windsurf was in talks with buyers akin to Kleiner Perkins and Basic Catalyst to boost funding at a $3 billion valuation, the report added.
