Mike Francesa went scorched earth on the Man of Metal.
The legendary sports activities radio character tore into the newly launched “Superman” movie throughout a 15-minute rant Monday on his self-titled podcast, calling the James Gunn-directed blockbuster “pure torture.”
“For someone who’s an old-time, TV show ‘Superman’ guy trying to get entertained for a couple hours, and wants to see Superman, this movie was pure torture to sit through,” Francesa stated.
“… If my name was on the credits, I’d hide it, that’s how bad it was… This was unmitigated garbage.”
The film, starring David Corenswet because the titular hero, grossed a whopping $125 million domestically in its opening weekend.
Even with a contemporary Rotten Tomatoes rating of 83 %, Francesa took exception to the looks of Superman’s canine companion, Krypto, within the movie.
“There’s a Superdog, who came up with a Superdog? We all like dogs, ok. And I didn’t like the dog getting beat on in the movie, it bothered me. Who came up with a dog with a cape?” he stated.
It’s secure to say Francesa gained’t be giving the superhero flick a second probability.
“This movie is so bad that if you asked me to go sit through it again, I would want major, major cash before I could do it,” Francesa stated.
