A 4.1 magnitude earthquake rocked japanese Tennessee Saturday morning and was felt as far-off as Atlanta, Georgia.
The quake originated close to Greenbeck, Tennessee, about 30 miles southwest of Knoxville, in accordance with the US Geological Survey.
The USGS reported the tremor had a depth of about 15.5 miles.
Residents in North and South Carolina, and Georgia reported feeling the tremors.
“First ever earthquake you could actually feel in Atlanta,” one X consumer posted. “Whole place shook for nearly 10 seconds. Absolutely nuts.”
“I’m outside of Atlanta, and I could’ve sworn I felt a slight tremor that shook my house,” one other posted simply after 9 a.m.
